Welcome to the home page of Dr. Fabio Variola. The Surface Nanoengineering Laboratory (SNL) project was set up in June 2011 at the University of Ottawa - Faculty of Engineering with the aim of developing novel biomaterials for various biomedical applications. The SNL tasks and interests consist in the exploitation of nanotechnology-based approaches to modify the surface properties of current biomaterials and in understanding the processes that govern the biological response to micro and nanostructured surfaces.
